POSTED ON MEEBO'S BLOG..VERY INTRESTING

Over the last two days I got to talk with students at both my high school and my college. In both cases, the students were all interested in potentially starting their own business some day, and my goodness did they have a lot of questions. One of my favorite topics that usually comes up is how to put together an initial team to actually work on the project!

Those of you who've used meebo for a long while know that Elaine, Sandy and I got together and worked on completely different ideas before ultimately coming up with the idea of moving IM over to the web. We actually started back in 2003, but didn't launch anything until 2005. What this means, though, is that we decided that we liked working together and that we were a really strong team, so even if we started in on one project and decided we didn't like it, we stayed together and worked on the next one.

I tried to start a bunch of startups before meebo...and they all, more or less, failed. A common factor, I think, was that I tried to do them myself...I didn't find other really great people to team up with. The reality, of course, is that any given person is only knowledgeable in a relatively narrow field. Sure, I can raise a round of funding, but I could never actually build meebo. That has Elaine and Sandy written all over it! And then if you look at Elaine's and Sandy's unique skills, you notice that they too are very complementary to each other. Elaine's focus is what you see on the screen (front end) while Sandy's is moving bits through servers really efficiently (back end).

The team that you work with to do a startup is incredibly important. You really want to find people who are NOT like you...who have unique skills that complement your weaknesses (me: attention to detail...not so good!). So make sure you branch out and find folks who complement you, and perhaps above all, make sure you all really love working together...you'll be spending many sleepless nights working together!

(read the one below this one first)

Michael C. Behnke
MIT
Director of Admissions
Office of Admissions, Room 3-108
Cambridge MA 02139-4307

Dear Michael:
You've got the reputation. You've certainly got the pomposity. And now you've got a letter from John Mongan. Maybe you're surprised. Most universities would be.

But you're not most universities. And that's exactly why I urge you to carefully consider one of the most selective students in America, so selective that he will choose only *one* of the thousands of accredited universities in the country.

The level of pomposity and lack of tact reflected in your letter is a powerful indicator that your august institution might well be a possibility for John Mongan's future education. It certainly got my attention!

Don't want Bio-Chem students? No problem. It may surprise you to learn that my interests cover over 400 fields of study, from semantics to limnology, from object-oriented programming (perhaps one of the youngest professionals in the country) to classical piano.

What? Of course you don't want egotistical jerks. Who does? I *am* self-indulgent *and* over confident, but I'm also amusing. John Mongan is funny and amusing - whether you're laughing with him or at him.

You're interested in athletes? Great! John Mongan has played more sports - 47 - than almost any other student, including oddball favorites such as Orienteering.

You think I can pay for your school? Don't be too sure. I've got surprises for you there, too.

Why not send a guaranteed admission and full scholarship to increase your chance of being selected by John Mongan? Why not do it right now?

Sincerely,
John Mongan

P.S. If you'd like a copy of a fun-filled, fact-filled brochure, "John Mongan: What a Guy!" just ask.

Letter from MIT to the Student

Mr. John T. Mongan
123 Main Street
Smalltown, California 94123-4567

Dear John:

You've got the grades. You've certainly got the PSAT scores. And now you've got a letter from MIT. Maybe you're surprised. Most students would be.

But you're not most students. And that's exactly why I urge you to consider carefully one of the most selective universities in America.
The level of potential reflected in your performance is a powerful indicator that you might well be an excellent candidate for MIT. It certainly got my attention!

Engineering's not for you? No problem. It may surprise you to learn we offer more than 40 major fields of study, from architecture to brain and cognitive sciences, from economics (perhaps the best program in the country) to writing.

What? Of course, you don't want to be bored. Who does? Life here *is* tough *and* demanding, but it's also *fun*. MIT students are imaginative and creative - inside and outside the classroom.

You're interested in athletics? Great! MIT has more varsity teams - 39 - than almost any other university, and a tremendous intramural program so everybody can participate.

You think we're too expensive? Don't be too sure. We've got surprises for you there, too.

Why not send the enclosed Information Request to find out more about this unique institution? Why not do it right now?

Sincerely,
Michael C. BenhkeDirector of Admissions

The Worst School Ever

All of my schooling career, I have been only in two schools . One of them was in my hometown, and the other one was the (famous throughout the country) Delhi Public School. The name strikes most in India, as something hifi and too elite. According to me, it is the worst school one can go to.

Money-Hungry Bastards, filling up their pockets by senseless fines, rules and regulations. The petty amount of Discipline that exists is never enforced and is only bought by money. From teachers to principle to the administration. Everybody is corrupt. CORRUPT .. New ways to earn money are being sort out each and every moment.

The education system is the worst there could be. Untimely exams, Never-ending course, Worse than students Teachers. There is a whole lot of confusion which nobody has been/will be able to figure out.

The only question that can exist in your mind or mine is that, then why is it so famous. The All-India Famous Board Results ?? Well. Maybe The Board authorities are bribed too.. That is the only possibility.

Famous South-Park Quotes.

Mr. Garrison: How would you like to go see the school counselor?
Cartman: How would you like to suck my balls?
Mr. Garrison: What did you just say?!
Cartman: Oh, I'm sorry (Clears throat and pulls out megaphone), actually what I said was, "How would you like to suck my balls, Mr. Garrison?"

Cartman: I would never let a woman kick my ass. If she tried something, I'd be like, HEY! You get your bitch ass back in the kitchen and make me some pie!

Jewish Kid: Is anyone else having problems concentrating on this? I just can't seem to concentrate.
Cartman: Maybe we should send you to a concentration camp

Cartman: It's a man's obligation to stick his boneration in a women's separation; this sort of penetration will increase the population of the younger generation.

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain. Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you trade your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I Wish you Were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears, Wish you Were here.

Windows Vista is Starting to Get Big on Me

First of All, I hated it. But now as i am using it more and more, it seems to have gotten a liking. It isnt what we all expected from Microsoft for the 5 year break they took for this OS. But, i think, just like WIN XP . this one is gonna take time to settle in.

People stop stereotyping Vista, maybe it isnt as bad as we think it is. Let it develop. IT has just been released. Give Mr. Bill and his team a break .

And all your Lovers, Stop smellling that sweet smell of innovation as you suspect Vista being ripped off the Mac. There is alot more to it. Alot More. I'd take time for bringin the new things on this one on the blog.

Till Then, Adios..

You you're such a big star to me
you're everything I wana be
But your stuck in a hole
And i want you to get out
I don't know what there is to see
But i know that its time for you to leave
We're all just pushing along
Trying to figure it out
Oh your anticpation holds you down
When you can have it all, you can have it all
ooh, so cumon
So cumon get it on
Duno what you're waiting for
Your time is coming don't be late
hey, hey
So cumon see the light on your face
Let it shine , just let it shine, let it shine
Stop, stop, being so hard on yourself
Its not good for your health
I know that you can change
So clear your head and come round
You only have to open your eyes
You might just get a big suprise
Make me feel good
And you might want to smile, smile , smile oooh
Don't you let your demons pull you down
Cus you can have it all, you can have it all, ooh
ooh, so cumon
So cumon get it on
Duno what you're waiting for
Your time is coming don't be late
hey, hey
So cumon see the light on your face
Let it shine , just let it shine, let it shine
Hey, hey
Let me know ya
You're all that matters to me
Let me show ya
You're all that matters to me
so cumon
So cumon get it on
Duno what you're waiting for
Your time is coming don't be late
hey, hey
So cumon see the light on your face
Let it shine , just let it shine, let it shine
Hey, hey
Let me know ya
You're all that matters to me
Let me show ya
You're all that matters to me
Oh cumon see the light on your face

300

To say this movie was Amazing, is an understatement. I felt the adrenalin through my body, as i stepped out of my seat(which was soaked with cola). Dont watch this movie with Girls, if you want to know what this movie is really about. Blood-Soaked, Action-Packed,Over-The-Top,Adrenalin Busting Flick.

The soundtrack adds another dimension to the movie. Kudos! Tyler Bates, you shurely did it with this one. The background scores during the battle scenes are oblivistic.

Swords slashed, Hoplites Jumped. It was one of a kind experience when the 300 were on their killing rampage. Wave after Wave after Wave of Persians being cut like knife cuts through butter.

If the director wouldve done in with more War Sequences, it would have left LOTR:ROTK biting the dust.

Now, with the adrenalin gone. This movie also shows how Freedom is not Free. And Has to be earned with the highest of costs. The Greeks never stood for Money, They Were for Honour. Run after materialistic possesions and you would be all but Happy.

Our soul earns happiness and does not take it from anybody. Happiness, contrary to the law of conservation of energy is not Constant. It is destroyed as well as taken away. Happiness is created and not merely transferred.

KUDOS FRANK MILLER ! KUDOS ZACK SNYDER ! KUDOS GERARD BUTLER ! KUDOS TYLER BATES ! KUDOS EVERY LIVING SOUL WHO IS ASSOCIATED TO THIS WONDER.

I am A Spartan Inside !!

LIVE FOR HONOUR AND GLORY. DIE WITH IT .

CONFESSIONS OF A WHITE BOY(IN INDIA)

When asked the question, do you regret living in India for 9 years and the US for only 1? I simply relied "No". I realized that being an American, I was expected to answer negatively towards India but I just couldn't see how I could enjoy living in the US more. Aside from the fact that I absolutely hate power cuts, cable cuts, the heat, and the way India played against Bangladesh, but I still find it much more fun than the US. In the US, you take everything for granted. Here, you have to wait, and it makes it all the more awesome when it finally arrives. For example, I had been waiting for my Nintendo Wii to arrive since its release date of November 19, 2006. It arrived March 6, 2007. I enjoyed waiting for it! There was lots of mystery of what went on in that tiny little box! Anyway I just like it a lot more here and I probably won't ever enjoy living anywhere else in the world more than this because I've learned everything there is to learn about life from ages 6-15 (18 by the time I leave) here in Delhi. I know it may sound weird for a white kid to be saying this about a country he's not even a citizen of, but really; I love my India.

P.S. I think they should fine or punish the people who attacked Dhoni's house. How would you feel with the pressure of over one BILLION people watching you play? Give the man some credit! I'm sure he's much better at cricket than the people who destroyed his home. Sorry. Things like that make me mad. Come On INDIA World Cup 2007! Kar lo duniya mutthi mein!

Road Not Taken

'Two Roads Diverged in the Wood,
I took the one less travelled by,
That has made all the difference.'

The most beautiful and my all time mostest favouritest poem. This is the story of everyones life. Regrets. Right from Bill Gates to the poorest man in the World. I look back at decisions I took, the ones that have my life the way it is. But, what if I had went the other way. Where would i have been then ? I can actually try to reach it, using Mathematics. The purest and most unflawed of sciences. But, that would be logical. If I use mathematics, I will end up in the best place I could be at if i had taken the other route. Because Mathematics, mustve defined the most logical place I could have been. But it isnt always that way, Life is never logical. We dont always go by text. We go by intution. Intution is not mathematics

Switchfoot

The greatest musicians ever because of their totally new and deep style of music. It makes me sad, when I listen to them though because I dont buy their music, I download it. ILLEGALLY. But whenever I listen to them, I feel they are not here for the money, so they dont care. The best thing I like about them are their soulful lyrics which are like the most meaningful someone could write. But, to understand meaning, the song has to be felt. They talk about the real meaning of life, sing about it rather. Its a delight to hear them that way.

I LOVE THEM :D

Light ( In My Light Of Understanding )

We see the universe with light, but it has never been easy to understand it actually is. Its amazing how something we more than everytime we see, is something we know nothing about. What is Light ? Light is the Time of the Universe. I tried defining light, in context of time and universe. Time which we dont know about at all. The universe which hasnt been described so far. One of my friends suggested that the walls of the universe are moving away at the speed of light and thats why we dont see it. It means that everything the second hand of my watch ticks, the size of the universe increased by 3x10power8m. Lets trace back this then. Lets trace it to '0'. A mathematically defined null. But, there are also negatives. Lets trace it back to -infinity, -infinity+1, -infinity+2. So where is the beginning. Maybe we are still in the negatives and have not started to grow. So that must mean I have not begun yet and you havent begun yet. But the last time i checked I was 17 years old . So where do I give the 17 years of my godamn never existing life. I gave it to the time. Time, which was light, trying to increase the universe. which we are part of of. Light is not merely a beam of light. If is you and me, we. Everyone is Light. We are trying to give meaning to light, universe and time. But we as light, help time to form the universe.

Time & Constants

As an interlude to my previous post.

Everything seems to remain constant to me. Relativity doesnt exist. Its in our mind, just like comparing the number of items that were taken in a group and finally, fell back to where it was. Nothing Changed, we saw it change but nothing ever really changed ! We imagined it changing, it wasnt changing. This just says that the big picture, we are trying to create will fall back right where it actually started from. We can change laws, modify them. But we can't change, we imagine things. They dont happen.

NATURE

I found out that when there are a large number of things that need to be counted, if we try breaking them in groups, our job is done faster. One of things I tried, was to count them taking 3 things at once. I could do it in half the time, i took when i counted everything separately. I felt more. I wanted to make it even more faster, so i took groups of four and that helped me count triple quickly. I, then 5 things at once, it was more hectic to count but it was quick nevertheless. Then i tried with 6 nd it was even more hectic. Then I realized, If i just keep increasing the groups, I'll end up having a group which has all the things that were actually needed to be count. In the end, I got back where I started from . It looks like Nature's Way of the world around us. We are trying to do everything in large numbers, very large. But as the numbers increase, it becomes tideous. In the end we'll end up as having all thing separate. We'll be right where we start from. Right at the beginning. This, my friend is a law. The Real Deal.

Try increasing and things will end up right where they were.
